What issues / solutions do you have around homework, parent conferences, accommodating students with special needs, tracking student attendance, and communication with parents. There is a workload committee discussing these topics. Your input would be helpful posted by Siporin, 08:56 | link | comments Should staff have the ability to post a blog (like this one here) where people can comment on different threads? There are lots of ideas that come up in staff meetings that I hear, "We could blog it." What do you think? posted by Siporin, 08:53 | link | comments (1) Thursday, April 22, 2004 Welcome back! Please share your thoughts, ideas, concerns about using format #6 (Marlee's Model)for the Reading Journal where all the grade level benchmarks for reading are listed on one sheet of paper with a grid so that the teacher could [notate] that the benchmark was addressed in some manner at a certain point in time. How might you adapt it to better meet our/your needs? posted by Siporin, 02:15 | link | comments (2) It's Administrative Staff Appreciation Week. Let's let those gals in the front office know how much they're appreciated! (Yes, this is "Blogbardment".) posted by Siporin, 02:12 | link | comments (5) Wednesday, April 14, 2004 Here's an idea to try with your class blog: "Bombardment" - probably should be renamed... Compliment Shower or Appreciation Opportunity.... have kids blog their compliments or notes of appreciation to a classmate. Let's try it ourselves! I'd like to have us express appreciation for all the challenging effort Wanda puts into her many tasks. Please type a note here. posted by Siporin, 18:41 | link | comments (9) Random Acts of Kindness and Appreciation - If you'd like to publicly acknowledge the actions of others who work here at Gilham, please comment here. Don't forget to check back - your name might show up! posted by Siporin, 18:11 | link | comments (7) Great job trying out blogging! For those who like to feel IN CONTROL of something - know that it is possible to delete any comments you don't like or want. I deleted all comments that didn't further the discussion (ie - who's got a Snickers?). Also, when I blog with my kids, I tell them that I delete any comment that doesn't have a name attached to it. Let me know if you want help setting up your personal blog. posted by Siporin, 18:05 | link | comments What ideas do you have for recording your reading instruction? Daily? Weekly?
